“It’s not about how hard you can get hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward”

Even though I live in the Philadelphia area, I am not a huge Rocky fan which is where the thread title is a quote from. That does not change the fact that this specific quote summarizes my life since March of 2021.

Having now established that I am not a huge Rocky fan and that life has been challenging, at best, and terrible at worst then what has worked for me? I know the following words will not be for everyone and that is okay. I am not here to force or convert or convince as that has never been my approach. What I have always tried to do is give people information to make an informed decision.

To that end, this is the ammo for every firefight I have brought down on myself during these past few years. This is how I started to find my way out of the darkness that engulfed me. This is how I see a way out of the forest and find my way home.

Accept reality, but focus on the solution. Take that issue, take that setback, take that problem, and turn it into something good. Go forward. And, if you are part of a team, that attitude will spread throughout. Finally: if you can say the word “good,” then guess what? It means you’re still alive. It means you’re still breathing. And if you’re still breathing, that means you’ve still got some fight left in you. So get up, dust off, reload, recalibrate, re-engage— and go out on the attack.”
